The CNA & EMT Difference

What truly sets our caregivers apart from every other agency in Orange County

Most home care agencies hire caregivers with only a basic Home Care Aide certification — often as little as 5 hours of training. At OC Home Care, we go further. Our team includes Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) with 150+ hours of state-approved training and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) with 200+ hours of emergency-response education. That's training your family can feel — every shift, every day, and especially when it matters most.

All our caregivers provide non-medical personal care, but our CNA- and EMT-trained staff bring an additional layer of knowledge and composure.

Cameron Yazdani — Founder of OC Home Care

Founded on a Decade of Healthcare Excellence

After more than ten years working inside the healthcare industry, founder Cameron Yazdani built OC Home Care around a single, deeply personal mission: to empower people to live better lives — at home, on their own terms, with the dignity and quality of care they deserve.

Cameron believes that real care isn't about clipboards and quotas — it's about the people behind the door. That's why OC Home Care is built differently. Our team includes CNAs and EMTs with hundreds of hours of professional training, our care plans are designed around the individual, and our purpose is the same every single day: helping the people we serve age gracefully, recover stronger, and live fuller lives — all in the comfort of the place they love most.

Why Families Choose OC Home Care

FOUNDED ON A DECADE OF EXPERIENCE

About OC Home Care

Built on compassion, integrity, and professional understanding — delivering care that families trust and clients deserve.

Cameron Yazdani — Founder of OC Home Care

Our Story

OC Home Care was founded by Cameron Yazdani, a ten-year veteran of the healthcare industry who spent the better part of a decade watching the same problem play out again and again: families with aging parents, loved ones recovering from illness, or family members living with disabilities being handed cookie-cutter care plans by agencies who didn't really know them — and didn't really seem to care to.

Cameron started OC Home Care with one mission in mind: to empower people to live better lives. Not just to be looked after. Not just to be kept safe. But to genuinely thrive — at home, surrounded by the people, places, and routines that make life meaningful. He believes that aging should be graceful, recovery should feel hopeful, and every person — regardless of age, ability, or diagnosis — deserves care that honors who they are.

That belief is why OC Home Care is built differently. Alongside experienced Home Care Aides, we employ Certified Nursing Assistants and Emergency Medical Technicians — bringing a level of professional training, hands-on training, and emergency readiness that most home care agencies simply cannot offer. It's the difference between a caregiver who shows up and a caregiver who knows what to do when it matters most.

But credentials are only half the story. The other half is heart. Cameron built this company for the people of Orange County — for the families who deserve more than what the typical agency offers, and for the loved ones who deserve to be treated like family, not a file number. That's the OC Home Care promise: better people, better care, better lives.

Caregiver connecting with elderly client — genuine compassion and dignity

Our Mission

At OC Home Care, our mission is simple but deeply personal: to be the kind of caregivers we'd want for our own families. The kind that listen. The kind that show up early and stay a little later. The kind that remember how someone takes their coffee, what makes them laugh, and what frightens them at 3 a.m.

We believe every person we care for deserves more than just a service — they deserve to feel seen. To feel respected. To wake up in their own bed each morning knowing that someone genuinely caring is going to walk through their door, treat them with patience and kindness, and help them live the fullest version of the day they have ahead of them.

That's why every care plan we build starts with a real conversation — about who your loved one is, what they value, what brings them comfort, and what they hope for. Then we surround them with caregivers who have the training to keep them safe and the heart to make them feel at home in their own life. Because the best care isn't measured in hours logged or tasks completed. It's measured in moments of dignity, comfort, and connection.

Caregiver and senior sharing a warm moment of companionship

Who We Serve

We have the privilege of caring for three communities who hold a special place in our hearts: the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and autistic clients of all ages. Three groups who, for far too long, have been handed care that didn't really fit them — care designed for the average, when nothing about them is average.

We see the parent who built a life and a family and now just wants to enjoy their golden years in their favorite chair. We see the adult child whose disability has never defined them — and never should. We see the autistic individual whose world makes perfect sense once you take the time to understand it. And we see the families behind them — exhausted, hopeful, doing everything they can — looking for someone they can finally trust.

To everyone who walks through our doors looking for help, we want you to know this: you are not alone, and you are in good hands. We don't just care for clients. We care about people. And we'd be honored to care for yours.

Why Our Caregivers Are Different

Professional training that gives your family greater peace of mind

Most home care agencies hire caregivers with only a basic Home Care Aide certification — often requiring as few as 5 hours of training. At OC Home Care, our team also includes CNAs with 150+ hours and EMTs with 200+ hours of rigorous professional training. That difference matters most when it matters most.

🩺 CNA-Level Expertise

Your parent develops a pressure sore that a basic HCA might never notice. Our CNA-trained caregiver recognizes the early signs of skin breakdown, follows proper repositioning protocols, and intervenes before the wound becomes a hospital visit.

🚑 EMT-Level Readiness

Your loved one shows sudden signs of a stroke. A basic HCA may not recognize the symptoms. Our EMT-trained caregiver immediately identifies the warning signs using the FAST protocol, calls 911 with a precise onset time, and positions the patient safely — helping ensure treatment within the critical window.

Our Values

The promises we make to every family who trusts us with the people they love

❤️

Compassion

This isn't a job we clock in for — it's a calling we answer. Every visit, every conversation, every small act of care is rooted in genuine empathy for the person in front of us. Because the people we serve aren't strangers. They're someone's whole world.

🤝

Integrity

You'll always know exactly where we stand and exactly what to expect. No fine print, no surprises, no second-guessing. We tell families the truth, we keep our promises, and we earn the trust we're given — every single day.

👤

Dignity

Your loved one is not a task on our schedule. They're a person with a lifetime of stories, a name that means something, and a right to be treated with the same respect we'd give our own family. We never forget that — not for a single second.

Excellence

Good enough isn't good enough when it comes to caring for your family. We hold ourselves to the highest professional standards in the industry — not because we have to, but because the people we serve deserve nothing less than our very best.

🔄

Consistency

The same caring face. The same dependable hands. The same promise kept day after day, week after week. When we say we'll be there, we'll be there — because trust isn't built on words, it's built on showing up.

"We don't just send a caregiver to your home — we send someone who cares like family — with more training and awareness than you'll find at most agencies."

Specialized Condition Support

Attentive, knowledgeable care for the moments when life feels the heaviest

When a diagnosis enters your family's life, everything changes. While we provide non-medical personal care — not medical treatment — the future can feel uncertain, the questions outnumber the answers, and you find yourself searching for someone who truly understands what you're going through. We can't take the diagnosis away — but we can stand beside you. Our caregivers hold professional credentials, including CNA and EMT certifications, which means they bring a deeper understanding of health and safety to every non-medical visit. While we provide non-medical personal care services, our caregivers' additional training gives them a keener eye for detail and a greater awareness of potential concerns. This level of training background is exceptionally rare in non-medical home care — and it's exactly why families across Orange County trust us with the people they love most.

🩺 Chronic Condition Care

Living with diabetes, heart disease, COPD, or another long-term condition is a daily commitment. While we do not provide medical treatment, we support daily routines, note any changes to share with your healthcare team, and provide the steady, attentive presence that helps your loved one continue living a full life.

🩹 Post-Surgery Recovery

Coming home from the hospital should feel like relief, not anxiety. We make the transition gentle — supporting comfort and daily needs during recovery, assisting with mobility, and providing the comfort and patience that real recovery requires. So your loved one can focus on getting better, not on getting through the day.

🧠 Stroke Recovery Support

A stroke can change a life overnight, but recovery is a marathon — not a sprint. Our caregivers offer the patient, structured support that helps stroke survivors rebuild routines, regain confidence, and rediscover independence one small victory at a time.

🎗️ Cancer Care Assistance

Cancer treatment takes everything — physically, emotionally, mentally. We're there for the days that feel impossible: managing fatigue, preparing meals when nothing sounds appetizing, providing transportation to appointments, and being a steady source of comfort when comfort is what's needed most.

🤲 Parkinson's Disease Care

Parkinson's affects every movement, every routine, every plan. Our caregivers are trained in the specific mobility, safety, and daily living strategies that Parkinson's clients need — adapting as the condition changes and helping your loved one stay safe, mobile, and engaged in their own life.

💭 Memory & Cognitive Care

Watching a loved one's memory slip away is one of the hardest journeys a family can face. Our caregivers approach Alzheimer's, dementia, and cognitive decline with endless patience and gentleness — meeting your loved one wherever they are, every single day, with kindness that never runs out.

🧩 Autism Support — All Ages

From children to adults, autistic individuals deserve caregivers who understand that their world has its own beautiful logic. We build consistent routines, create calm sensory environments, and offer the kind of patient, respectful one-on-one support that lets each person feel safe enough to truly thrive.

🕊️ End-of-Life Comfort Care

The most tender moments of a person's life deserve the most tender care. We're honored to walk alongside families during this sacred time — providing comfort, dignity, and peaceful presence so that final chapters can be filled with love, togetherness, and the things that matter most.

When Training Makes the Difference

Real scenarios where our caregivers outperform the industry standard

Most home care agencies staff their teams entirely with Home Care Aides who meet only the bare minimum training requirements — often as few as 5 hours. At OC Home Care, our team includes Certified Nursing Assistants and Emergency Medical Technicians with hundreds of hours of professional training. While all our caregivers provide non-medical personal care services, here is how that additional training background can make a difference:

⚠️ Typical Agency HCA
✅ OC Home Care CNA/EMT
Your parent falls and hits their head

Caregiver panics, calls 911, and waits. No training to assess the injury or stabilize the patient.

Our EMT-trained caregiver assesses for concussion, stabilizes the head and neck, controls bleeding, and delivers a clear medical report when EMS arrives.

⚠️ Typical Agency HCA
✅ OC Home Care CNA/EMT
Your loved one stops breathing

Caregiver may not know CPR. Calls 911 and waits 8–12 minutes for paramedics. Every minute without CPR reduces survival by 10%.

Our EMT-trained caregiver begins high-quality CPR immediately, uses an AED if available, and maintains the airway until paramedics arrive — dramatically increasing survival odds.

⚠️ Typical Agency HCA
✅ OC Home Care CNA/EMT
Your parent hasn't been repositioned in hours

Caregiver doesn't recognize the risk. A pressure sore develops unnoticed, potentially leading to hospitalization or life-threatening infection.

Our CNA-trained caregiver follows a repositioning schedule, inspects skin for early signs of breakdown, and intervenes before a wound ever forms.

⚠️ Typical Agency HCA
✅ OC Home Care CNA/EMT
Your loved one becomes suddenly confused and agitated

Caregiver may not think much of it. Subtle changes go unreported. The underlying condition worsens before anyone notices.

Our CNA-trained caregiver recognizes these as potential signs of a UTI, dehydration, or medication side effect — documents and reports immediately so the family and physician can act fast.

EMT — OC Home Care Caregiver200+ hours

Our CNA and EMT caregivers have up to 42x more training than the minimum required to work as a home care aide in California.

🩺

The CNA Difference

Many home care agencies hire caregivers with only a basic Home Care Aide certification. We hire Certified Nursing Assistants. CNAs complete rigorous state-approved training programs covering personal care, health awareness, infection control, patient safety, and hands-on caregiving — giving your family more knowledgeable, observant non-medical caregivers.

A CNA caregiver can:

  • Provide expert assistance with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) — bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and transfers
  • Prevent pressure ulcers (bedsores) through proper repositioning, skin inspection, and early intervention — something many HCAs are not trained to detect
  • Recognize early signs of infection, dehydration, skin breakdown, and changes in mental status
  • Safely assist with mobility using walkers, wheelchairs, and transfer belts with proper body mechanics
  • Observe and note changes in a client's condition and communicate concerns to family members and healthcare providers
  • Follow proper hygiene and safety practices informed by their professional training

Pressure sores can develop in as little as two hours and lead to serious, life-threatening infections. A CNA knows exactly what to look for and how to prevent them. Most standard caregivers don't.

Why EMTs Make Exceptional Caregivers

Emergency Medical Technicians complete rigorous training that covers emergency response, patient observation, and life-saving skills such as CPR. When an EMT serves as your caregiver, you're getting a caregiver whose first-responder training means they can stay calm, recognize warning signs, and take appropriate action in an urgent situation while awaiting emergency services.

An EMT caregiver can:

  • Perform high-quality CPR and use an AED if a cardiac emergency occurs
  • Recognize the signs of a stroke, heart attack, diabetic emergency, or allergic reaction — and act immediately
  • Manage falls, fractures, and injuries safely until EMS arrives
  • Take and interpret vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation
  • Stay calm and decisive in high-pressure, time-critical situations
  • Communicate medical information clearly to 911 dispatchers and paramedics

In an urgent situation, the peace of mind that comes from having a caregiver with first-responder training in the room — someone who can stay calm, recognize the signs, and take appropriate action while emergency services are on the way — is invaluable.

EMTs bring emergency awareness and training to home care

Home Care vs. Facility Care

Why more families are choosing to keep their loved ones at home

For many families, the choice isn't just about who provides care — it's about where. Here's how in-home care with OC Home Care compares to a traditional assisted living or nursing home environment.

WHAT MATTERS
🏥 FACILITY CARE
🏡 IN-HOME CARE
Caregiver-to-Client Ratio
Often 1 caregiver to 8 or more residents — attention is divided across many people at once.
1-on-1 attention. Your loved one receives 100% of their caregiver's focus, every minute of every shift.
Familiar Environment
Clients must adjust to an unfamiliar room, new routines, and strangers — often increasing confusion, anxiety, and depression, especially for those with dementia.
Home is medicine. Familiar surroundings, personal belongings, and beloved routines reduce stress and preserve a sense of self.
Infection & Illness Risk
Communal living significantly increases exposure to infections, illness, and hospital readmissions.
Dramatically lower risk. Your loved one isn't sharing dining halls, hallways, or activity rooms with dozens of others.
Family Access & Visits
Visiting hours, sign-in policies, and travel time create barriers to staying close.
Your home, your schedule. Visit anytime, share meals, or stay the night — with no restrictions whatsoever.
Personalization of Care
Care is delivered on a facility schedule — meals, activities, and rest times set by the institution, not the resident.
Built around them. Every care plan is designed around your loved one's preferences, routines, and personality.
Independence & Dignity
Loss of autonomy is one of the most common emotional struggles of facility living.
They stay in charge. Their home, their rules, their life — supported, never controlled.

When you choose OC Home Care, you're not just choosing a higher caliber of caregiver — you're choosing a fundamentally better way to receive care.
